Band of Jays is the solo project from multi-instrumentalist and uber-pop guy Julian Volpe. Julian has been a side man on dozens of studio and live projects nationwide over his 30 year musical career so far. He hails from Charleston, South Carolina. He was brought to Green Monkey by our good friend Steve Turnidge.
Julian regularly came up with catchy tunes and hooks while in his other bands, and decided to develop them on his own – he's known as "Jay" in the studio, so this is his "Band of Jays." Influenced by artists such as Jason Falkner, The Posies, R.E.M., and Motown music, Julian's music is a reflection of his diverse musical background. Each of Julian's tracks are masterful fusions of different genres, featuring soaring melodies, intricate guitar solos, and soulful harmonies that demonstrate his technical proficiency, creativity and love of music.
