Our new album, Freedumb Reigns, is our scream into the night air. Craig, Dick, and Ray weaved together a collection of experiences and feelings: grief, fear, anger, and apathy and let our passion for music help us express ourselves. Songs like "Skinner Rat" and "Devices" speak to the constant desire to seek validation from others and to assimilate to a society that is split between those that are happy with the status quo and those that are tired of system that equates financial value to the human experience.
Freedumb Reigns is full of moody lyrics and spicy guitar licks that are tethered to the ground with heavy drums and bass. The album has a reminiscent vibe of 2000 era alt rock with a twist of post punk and low fi energy. Be sure to listen to this album, your life might just depend on it.

Home EP
The song Home was initially written in a somewhat surreal stretch of time in 2020. There was a pandemic, a toxic election and social uprising related to racism and the killings of black people by the police. Politics and cable news brought out the worst in us, in the forms of viotrolic political discourse, conspiracy theories and lies. It represents the mood that we felt during that time period. Feeling as though your home and sometimes your family had changed. Then there was the insurrection on the 6th, and finally the Dobbes decision… This song is an expression about feeling like the place you love is not the same as it used to be. An outlet and an offering for when things don’t make sense. Peace and Love.

Stumble Bumz (single)
Stumble Bumz was developed by Craig Lodis. The song has origins in his one man project. Then it began to grow, into something else. The song has morphed from a tad pole into a lo-fi, psychedelic, sonic sedative. With a sludgy bassline that lumbers along like it’s had one too many. Beware… this song is sticky…

Check My Head video: https://youtu.be/gDgeWSp6fb0 Cabeza is excited to share more new music with you. We have been busy in the band room developing new musical treats for your ears. Our freshest releases are “Check My Head” and “Snake Oils”. Two songs that reflect our struggles to stay on the constant hamster wheel of wake, do, sleep, repeat, and to the constant reminder that we are vulnerable to our own fears. “Check My Head” is a song that was developed from the grind. The chores: I think I am losing my mind is like an eerie poem that seems to sneak into all of our heads these days. The song also pay’s tribute to the Late Adam Yauch (MCA) of the Beastie Boys. The Beastie Boys have been a strong influence for Craig and Ray and the lyrics were warped to express a more personal experience. “Snake Oils” was largely inspired by the 2020 election. As a band we watched and cringed as people continued to argue over human rights issues. We were taken back from the political climate and we decided to put our perspectives on paper. Thus Snake Oils was brought to life. We are currently working on several more songs to round out “The Social Distance” record. So, keep your ears out for more new music from Cabeza soon!

The band defines Cabeza as follows: 1. loud and obnoxious. at times thoughtful and delicate 2. noise from our hearts and sounds from our heads Cabeza is a four-piece band from Boise, the capitol of Idaho USA. They shake and stir bits of electronic, hip-hop and experimental music into their indie rock foundation, resulting in a soulfully weird groove. Their new single “The Social Distance” b/w “Loops” breaks loose the Covid scene in Boise, where half the population don’t want no damn government-plot vaccine. The band had planned to be a 2020 gigging machine, but that went straight down the quarantine tubes. The sound for this single is far more electronic than their 2019 “So Important” single. (cabezaboise.bandcamp.com/track/so-important): it is either a bold new direction or an interesting side-trip reflecting the nature of their current reality. Craig Lodis and Ray Dyer (yes, he’s related) started the band as an excuse to hangout, drink some beers, and jam on drums, guitar and vocals, the true nexus of all great art. Saul X showed up with his bass from a Craigslist ad; Cabeza started cooking and booking shows. A garage bay was sacrificed for the good of mankind and transformed into practice-spaceship/studio. Calen X next came aboard and helped beef out the sound on guitar. With now four Millennial members, Cabeza’s sound is tall, subversive and has enough groove to get the emo guy in the back of the venue to nod along. This is their third single/EP, plus they have contributed multiple times to the annual Green Monkey Christmas Charity album. Stuff they like include Nine Inch Nails, Sylvan Esso, TV on the Radio, and Talking Heads. The future is uncertain but they remain resolute.
