Dead Air Fresheners began making audio experiments in or around 1997 up and down Interstate 5. Jennifer Robin has performed at open mics and with avant-garde musicians since she was seventeen. She has two books scheduled for release in 2025, covering topics such as her mother, mad science, and Paris in the early 70’s.
Moon
Dead Air Fresheners have been confusing audiences in the Pacific Northwest since sometime in the mid-to-late 1990s. With members located along Interstate 5 from Salem, OR to Bellingham, WA, the collective of avant garage provocateurs have centered themselves in recent years in a hidden studio in North Portland, OR called “The Elusive Hangar”. That is where this album, with the group playing behind their good friend and globally renowned author Jennifer Robin, was recorded and mixed, with the exception of some cello bits flown in from Olympia, Washington. A masked fifteen-year-old Dead Air Freshener drummer laid the beats, and rest of the group tuned their electronics to follow Jennifer to the “Moon”. NY Times featured painter Jean Smith provided the ideal cover art. Moon is the 19th documented album by Dead Air Fresheners but their first with both Jennifer Robin and Green Monkey Records. So that makes it their best, right?? Expect noises that you might not have previously thought of as “music” behind Jennifer’s poetic roar, but this might actually be Dead Air Fresheners most accessible record. Certainly at least since Bastard Customer. Get onboard and come with us to Moon.
