Here's what the King County Queens wrote when they put up their Facebook page: "Scott S. and Scott M. got together and played during the summer. Many beers were drank, many notes were played and many songs were written. The duo met up with their friends Scott V. and 'Not' Scott G. in order to further conspire and corrupt. Thus a new band was formed to transform the minds of the masses into a swirly haze of color, sound and volume."

Go ahead and believe that, if you want to. Because in the year since that paragraph was coaxed into Internet infamy, the King County Queens have gone from strength to strength, playing initially sparsely-attended local shows, spending time wondering "WTF?!," and soldiering on, writing and arranging more songs, attracting larger crowds, and adhering (mostly) to the original description of their music: "Psychedelia + power pop + shoegaze + garage rock = Amerigaze." And that's still apt.

All four members of the band are multi-talented wonders of the modern age – just don't ask what the collective age of the band is, because it'll take more than a handful of hands and feet to count that high. But with that, errrrr, experience comes a love for playing tunes that will thrill music lovers of all ages.

These King County Queens finally made their way into the recording studio this last winter and laid down 14 of their best songs – a dozen of which made the final cut. (What happened to the other two is a gruesome tale, which you may hear told someday if you buy them enough beers.) Ladies & Gentlemen, Your King County Queens is the resulting album, and it, too, will love music thrillers of all ages.
