Oct. 2010: Little Bears From Bangkok – Vic Morrow

Greetings my Friends –

Welcome to the October 2010 AotM, which of course climaxes with the most terrifying of all holidays, Halloween. Needless to say, we have picked a band for this month that is very scary – Little Bears From Bangkok. We all know bears are scary, and how little could they be? (Listen here: https://soundcloud.com/greenmonkeyrecords/sets/little-bears-from-bangkok)

Holiday festiveness aside, you are about to enjoy some fine early 80’s Seattle arty rock stuff. I generally consider LBFB to be Beakers spawn and if you don’t know The Beakers, go right to K Records and buy their CD – I did! The album you are probably listening to this very minute, was assembled posthumously, as you can read in the extensive notes below written by Jim Anderson. I did not see these guys back when more than once or twice, but as always, I faithfully bought their cassette at Cellophane Square (this was in my buy all local releases period) and thought it mighty fine. I still have it.

Little Bears From Bangkok cassette coverI actually started pursuing this a couple years ago, so I am pretty thrilled to get it out to you all. I did some tweaking on the tunes to make them a little more sonically pleasing for your listening pleasure, but the purity remains. If you are wishing you owned this drop me a note and I will forward it to Jim – no guarantees.

Next month we will be re-releasing The HitmenSmashface in all its original glory and then some – it will indeed be your November AotM!
