Our old pal Jimm McIver has a story to tell

“I wrote this song back at Dark Songs 2011 with my dear friends Andrea Wittgens and James Hall. This was a big breakthrough for me, as it was the first i’d been able to write about my Mom since… she passed back in 2006. Later, Vee Sonnets and Rick Wood came in the studio with us and added the beautiful Allman Bros guitar harmonies to this recording.
Somehow, unbeknownst to me, the original lyric sheet ended up in Vee’s guitar case, and at Dark Songs this year he surprised me with this framed picture that has the lyrics superimposed over a pic of my Mom he’d grabbed off FB. Water works ensued. Vee is not just a brilliant musician and songwriter, he is a sterling human being. Thanks Vee, love you dude!!!”
