Dec. 2023: Tom Dyer

Ok. December is minutes away – snuck up when we weren’t looking. So now what?

Well, there’s this. I am going to play my first solo show since around 1978, when I nervously played a little coffee shop in Snohomish, WA. On Friday, Dec 8 at 6pm I’m gonna do a show at a groovy & cozy little joint in Oly, the Nexstage Music Showcase at the Soul Cafe, 2727 Westmoor Court SW. I will be playing 100% Xmas tunes from my 3 albums of jolly holiday material, including the most festive True Olympian tunes, plus some 20-year-old compositions getting their first-ever public performance.

Before me, Gary Allan May, longtime Olympia stalwart, who’s graced many a stage over the years as a solo artist and in the Supreme Cool Beings & The Gardenias will do a beautiful set.

This is a covered space but it is outdoors, so dress for success.

In other news, me and Howie thought we might as well put all the Christmas releases on sale for Bandcamp day this Friday, Dec. 1, so you can properly prepare for your perfectly immense holidays. All the GMR Xmas comps we have done over the years are 100% for charity – with the dough going to MusiCares to help musicians in need. (The filthy lucre for theTom Dyer Xmas releases goes straight to my personal eggnog fund – whee!). Just go to bandcamp and use the code xmas25 when you check out.

Next – GMR vinyl sale! We went through a year or three of releasing Green Pajamas/Jeff Kelly on vinyl with our English pals Sugarbush. Most of them sold out fast, but we have  a few titles left and we want you to add them to your collections right now! We are making deals!

Green Pajamas – Poison in The Russian Room $12;

Sunlight Weighs Even More $15;

Seven Fathoms Down and Falling $15;

Hidden Minutes $5;

Jeff Kelly – Beneath the Stars, Above The River $12

Also: Obrador – More Odd Jobs $12;

Various – Monkey Business $15
