Hey loyalists!
As The Beakers once said – “Football Season is in Full Swing”. It was most thoughtful of Mr. Calvin Johnson to reissue this work in 2004, at which point it was already about 20 years old. Should you wish you to consider this a bit of PNW hype intended to create excitement about my next planned project History of NW Rock Vol. 2 – 1970-1980, well so be it.
But let’s deal with the hoary present shall we?
October = Helloween = Von Cube. Inspired by the “horrifying” music of the Don Knotts classic, “The Ghost and Mr. Chicken”, Grady and Nick put down their (un)usual two-man-army spank. Incorporating a descending guitar lick heard in Tom Dyer’s “Variations on a Theme by Buck Dharma” (which these rock-pummeling Cubists almost certainly have never heard!) which is itself a direct quote from the very first notes of “Transmaniacon MC”, from the very first (self-titled) album by the mighty Blue Oyster Cult, which, we at last know, is the illegitimate step-child of Don Knots. So much paternity! So many parentheses! So many commas!

As you have no doubt seen, last week we released a beautiful video for Tom Dyer’s “The Cliffs of Ireland” featuring footage all taken on my Irish trip. Tom Dyer – Irish Tour 2024.
Well, now we have a frighteningly Halloween-appropriate “Bogman” video edited by Senior Vice President Howie Wahlen. More videos to follow! If you’ve not had time to enjoy this epic travel epic travel album yet, perhaps it is time. https://tomdyer.bandcamp.com/album/irish-tour-2024

Jim of Seattle has put up posters all around Carkeek Park, with a QR code you can scan and then listen to his Carkeek Park Suite while you stroll through the beauty of fall. Who doesn’t want that?
A week from today we will have a new Green Pajamas single hitting bandcamp and the streamers, “Something About The Light”. Recorded by Jeff and Joe this year, it is the final track on the PJ’s 2-LP 40-year anniversary rarities compilation LP “Just To This (Forty Summers of Lust, Love, Heartbreak and Madness)”, which spans their earliest 4-track recordings to the very present. The album will be released in November by Sound-Effect Records and you can pre-order it NEXT WEEK from them on their website (https://www.soundeffect-records.gr/) or by stopping by their shop in Athens, Greece. Green Monkey will have a limited amount of stock available for those of you who prefer paying domestic postage and we will be handling the digital distribution worldwide.
Hold your breath!
We are inching closer to completing The Richard Peterson Christmas Album. I have a sneak preview of the song line up and credits for you!
So it begins yet again. The palate is clean. To paraphrase Mr. Van Vliet, old farts at play.
Until next month.
