Yo Peeps!
Today is Bandcamp Friday – 100% of the money from purchases go to the artists!
And now the news! We just spruced up our old GreenMonkeyRecords.com website and have made it the wham-bam-thank-you-maam hub of the operation. Think Magic Johnson driving down the lane and dishing no-look passes – same thing. There’ll be a little more remodeling in the future.
We have four shiny new releases this month. Let us begin!
THE PURDINS — “Falling Down”

“Falling Down” (GMDS61) is the lead single from Second Greatest Hits, the extremely-long-awaited follow-up from mighty Seattle rock-pop veterans The Purdins — whose original 1995 Greatest Hits compilation proudly carried the words “Wimp Rock for Losers” ! Me love Purdins! They rule a cult following that’s stuck around for decades. The full vinyl LP (plus CDs) drops August 28, 2026, with a release show at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard the same damn night. Will there be buckets of stage blood like the last show I saw? Hmm. Sardonic, hooky, and beautifully so Purdins — this one’s a jolly keen preview of what’s coming.

ACROSS 35TH — “Across 35th” (GMDS40)

Across 35th trace their origins back to the fall of 2014, when would-be singer/songwriter Mimi Katz and future drummer Lincoln Ross met in kindergarten. Seven years later, in middle school, they teamed up with bassist Logan Stallard and lead guitarist Dylan Welch to complete the lineup. The band name comes from the busy avenue they cross to get to the Pink House, where they rehearse. All four members attend West Seattle High School.

– Debut full-length LP due October 2026

VON CUBE — A New Single and a New EP

“Jonny Was A Pimp” (GMDS59) — Von Cube has never been shy about pushing a song someplace it didn’t ask to go, and this is proof. Longtime fans will remember the jazz-tinged version of “Jonny” from the Non Dairy Creamer EP. This time, Grady has taken it a step further, in fact right over the cliff, with this brilliantly orchestrated, arranged and produced version by local musical genius and long-time Von Cube pal Brian Hutchison. Grady Cube takes it fully orchestrated, strings and all — less rock song, more end-credits of a film you didn’t know you were watching.

“All Is Well” EP (GM1143) — Nick and Grady are back with something genuinely unlike anything else in the catalog: a coloring-book-style CDr release. The boys bring the moves and grooves — you bring the crayons.
